Consumption strongly depends on the type of wood, weathering and preparation. Old wood, wood that has been left untreated outdoors or grooved wood often absorbs more product. Therefore always purchase slightly more product than the recommended liter per m². You can use the leftover to maintain and touch up the surface with the same product.

In exceptional cases, e.g. on very weathered or highly absorbing wood consumption can be twice as high (even up to 6 m²/liter). In these cases, adding up to maximum 20% water can help control the spread rate.
