How to apply Precolor Easy on furniture and stairs

Precolor Easy is a pre-colour, designed to always be used in combination with the Oil Plus 2C, to create special effects and contrasts. Enjoy unlimited creative possibilities thanks to the option to combine 14 different colours of Precolor Easy (which can be mixed with one another) with a finish in one of the 40 colours of the Oil Plus 2C. At the same time, the optimal molecular bonding of the Oil Plus 2C with the wood remains guaranteed.

Instructions to apply Precolor Easy on interior furniture and stairs

  • Step 1: Sand the surface 
  • Step 2: Vacuum thoroughly and clean with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner
  • Step 3: Apply Precolor Easy 
  • Step 4: Allow the surface to dry for ± 12 hours
  • Step 5: Break the raised wood fibers
  • Step 6: Finish off with Oil Plus 2C 

 

Step 1: Sand the surface 

  • Sand the surface scratch-free. Finish with screening net 100 to 150. (When renovating, you must remove all the residues from previous treatments completely.)

Step 2: Vacuum thoroughly and clean with Cleaner

  • Vacuum thoroughly, eliminate remains of dust with Cleaner and wait until the surface is completely dry.

Step 3: Apply Precolor Easy 

  • Stir the product thoroughly and regularly with a stirring stick.
  • Apply an amount of Precolor Easy with the Rubio Monocoat Brush and spread out using a red Scrubby Pad
  • Wipe out evenly with a lint-free cloth.
    • Tip 1: work in small areas to avoid overlapping.
    • Tip 2: for smaller objects and corners you can also use the green Mouse Pad.

Step 4: Allow the surface to dry for ± 12 hours

  • The exact drying time depends on the support, moistening, temperature and ventilation.

Step 5: Break the raised wood fibers

  • After drying, break the raised wood fibres with a red Scrubby Pad and vacuum afterwards.

Step 6: Finish off with Oil Plus 2C 

  • Now apply Oil Plus 2C (A + B component). Read our application instructions carefully.
  • Tip: in combination with Precolor Easy it is best to use a white Scrubby Pad to apply Oil Plus 2C instead a beige or red one.

 

- To determine the correct colour, always do a small test first with one of our 20 ml sample bottles on identical sanded and prepared wood.

- When using several containers at one site, it is required to mix them for an even result.

- Do not use in combination with water-based finishing products, such as Invisible Protector.
